A Retreat Center in the Heart of Virginia

Virginia Nazarene Retreat Center has served as a haven for children and their families since 1940. We’re located in the heart of Virginia. We offer a place for a wide variety of activities and camps that will meet the needs of your group or family.


Every summer, our caring and enthusiastic staff dream up a wide range of creative programs for campers of all ages. Our activities and offerings are fun, challenging and accepting of everyone’s individual abilities. Above all, we are a down-to-earth Christian Retreat Center dedicated to ensuring everyone that enter these ground leaves refreshed mentally, spiritually and physically.

Rev Mark Hardy

Executive Director

Originally from Boston, Massachusetts. Early as a young man came to know the Lord and grew up in the Wareham Church of the Nazarene. He graduated from Wareham High School and went on to attend Eastern Nazarene College, working on a bachelor’s degree of Religion.

 

While at Eastern Nazarene College he met his wife Amy. Pastor Mark and Amy were married March 1991 and have three children Abigail, Heather and Hannah, two grandchildren, Aleigha and Kayden.Pastor Mark is an Ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene.

 

Pastor Mark has been in ministry for 30 plus years. Serving in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Michigan. He has served as senior pastor, youth pastor and associate pastor.Pastor Mark has served as Philadelphia District Work and Witness Coordinator for 11 years and has participated on more than 20 mission trips. He also has hosted more teams to work on many different projects. 

 

He also was the Philadelphia District Disaster Coordinator and is trained by NDR and FEMA in disaster response. Pastor Mark has a heart for missions and the church. Pastor Mark is uniquely qualified to lead the camp and we look forward to lives transformed through camping and retreat ministry and all that will be accomplished in the days, months and years ahead to strengthen the ministry of the Camp.
